Rivers & Christian renovated and added to the former Flying Tigers Cargo facility to provide Federal Express with a regional sort facility at LAX. The project consisted of a multi-phased construction program which encompassed 230,000 sq. ft. of sort area, 50,000 sq. ft. of offices & 20,000 sq. ft. of aircraft and ground service equipment maintenance facilities.

Site work included apron and taxiway paving, underground fuel systems, ground power and demolition of the former FAA hanger. The project required additions to maintenance buildings as well as the renovation of the existing warehouse, parking structure, and major roadway and utility modifications. The new highly mechanized facility is the Southern California FedEx Airport Hub that sorts parcels, documents & non-containerized freight for the region.
