concept:

Landmark’s vision was to construct a pristine modulated terminal structure with an entrance port cochere that would reflect the contemporary sophistication of new GRR/KGRR airport and enhance the Signature Support Group Brand.

 

highlights:

Private Aviation Leasable Hangar and existing FBO. Consisting of a 4,500 sf. modulated steel terminal with amenities for customers, pilots, and operators. An 18,000 sq. ft. modulated steel hangar, 350,000 sq. ft. of active apron and parking for 50 vehicles.

 

 

Rivers & Christian architect-of-record for a new, ground-up Fixed Base Operator (FBO) facility for Signature Flight Support at Gerald R. Ford International Airport, Grand Rapids, Michigan. R&C working with tammy Edmonds Design provided complete architectural and interior design services to execute the general aviation, one hangar FBO facility. Sited on an approximately13 acre site, the project includes an 18,000 sq. ft. aircraft hangar and 4,500 sq. ft. new one story terminal building. Additionally, the project provided 350,000 sq. ft. of aircraft ramp & 20,000 sq. ft. of paved parking and landscape area. The Signature terminal provides aircraft owners/passengers, reception/check-in, lounges, conference rooms, Bistro, and pilot support areas for flight planning, exercising and aircraft fueling, maintenance, and storage.

The steel framed terminal is clad in a white and gray insulated aluminum rainscreen and insulated aluminum storefront system with 18 foot high passenger spaces and automobile porte cochere at the entrance. The pre-manufactured hangar is clad with gray insulated aluminum panels.
